Find answers to common questions about Yogen
What is Yogen?
Yogen is an AI-powered hiring suite for recruiters and managers who hire technical talent. It structures the whole process (intake, job description, interview stages, role-specific questions, decision rights, and candidate experience) so teams hire faster, cheaper, and more fairly. The flagship output is the Hiring Kit: every artifact a structured search needs, generated from one intake.
What does the Yogen Hiring Kit include?
The Hiring Kit covers five areas. Role Summary: Internal Intake Summary, Interview Stages, Hiring Decision Matrix, Tech. Interview Architect, and a Risk & Warning Summary. Sourcing: AI Job Descriptions, Boolean Search strings, and a Global Talent Advisor. Candidate Experience: Candidate Packet, Candidate Library, Equity 101 Guide, Cost of Living Guide, and Practice Questions. Interview Preparation: Customized Questions, Question Checker, Mock Interview Practice, and the Interview Co-Pilot. Offer & Closing: Recruiting Templates and Difficult Conversation Practice. Each artifact saves roughly 30 minutes to 3 hours of manual work.
Who is Yogen for?
Recruiters and hiring managers who hire engineers and other technical roles: from founders making their first technical hire without a recruiter, to talent teams standardizing structured interviews across many hiring managers. Candidates benefit too: the free Candidate Library and per-role Candidate Packets exist so applicants can prepare properly and be evaluated on ability instead of anxiety.
Which Yogen tools are free?
Several, permanently: the Interview Co-Pilot for structured, zero-PII interview notes; the Savings Calculator that prices your current hiring process; the hiring resource library for recruiters and hiring managers; and the Candidate Library with role-specific practice questions. No account is required for the libraries.
What pricing plans does Yogen offer?
Yogen offers two tiers: Free Tools and Full Access. Free Tools gives you permanent access to a core set of hiring resources at no cost — no trial period, no expiration. Full Access unlocks the complete Yogen platform and is priced per seat, scaling with the size of your organization. Visit our pricing page for current rates.
Are there discounts for annual subscriptions?
Yes — choosing an annual plan offers a significant discount compared to monthly billing. You'll also get uninterrupted access to all Full Access features for the year.
Can I change my subscription plan at any time?
Yes. You can upgrade from a monthly to an annual plan at any time from your account settings. If you'd like to downgrade from an annual plan, the change will take effect at the end of your current billing cycle.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. Your access will continue through the end of your current billing period.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes — we offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on Full Access plans. If you're not satisfied, reach out to us at [email protected] within 30 days of purchase and we'll process your refund.
Who is Yogen designed for?
Yogen is built primarily for recruiters and hiring managers — including managers of technical teams — who want a faster, more structured approach to finding and evaluating great candidates. It's also a natural fit for HR leaders, technical leaders (Directors of Engineering, VPs of Engineering, CTOs), and business leaders who care about hiring quality and cost, as well as those on a path toward those roles. We offer individual plans for recruiters in RPO roles or anyone who wants to pilot Yogen within a single team.
What makes Yogen different from other HR software?
Most hiring tools focus on moving candidates through a pipeline. Yogen focuses on what happens before a candidate ever applies — the structured intake process. By capturing deep, consistent information about a role, the team, the company culture, and the actual definition of success, Yogen helps hiring teams make better decisions faster and gives candidates the transparency they deserve. Our AI assists humans in this process; it doesn't replace human judgment.
Does AI make hiring decisions in Yogen?
No. Yogen's AI is designed to assist humans, not make autonomous hiring decisions. The AI helps with things like analyzing job description risk, generating structured interview questions, running mock interview simulations, and surfacing insights from your intake data — but every decision stays with your team. We believe hiring should be a win-win for both the company and the candidate, and that requires human accountability at every step.
What is the structured intake process and why does it matter?
The intake process is Yogen's core differentiator. Rather than starting a search with a vague job description, Yogen walks hiring managers through a structured set of questions about the role, team dynamics, technical requirements, success metrics, and more. This upfront investment saves significant time and cost downstream — reducing misaligned interviews, poor candidate experiences, and bad hires. Where it's helpful, we explain why a question is needed or point you to resources on how it's used — so you're never left wondering what you're working toward.
What are the Mock Interview and Difficult Conversations features?
These are AI-powered training tools built into Yogen. Mock Interviews help hiring managers and interviewers practice their technique, ask better questions, and reduce bias through realistic simulations. Difficult Conversations training helps managers and HR professionals prepare for sensitive workplace discussions. Both tools use AI to simulate realistic scenarios, with feedback designed to build real skill over time.
Why does Yogen require so much transparency?
Because hiring is a life-changing event — for the candidate and the company. Candidates who receive clear, detailed information about a role, the team, and what success looks like are more engaged, better prepared, and far less likely to drop out of the process. That translates directly to lower hiring costs and a better experience on both sides.
Yogen's intake process collects detailed information about your role, team, and culture — and uses it to generate a Hiring Kit that you can share with candidates. Companies that share this material see measurable reductions in candidate drop-off rates and a meaningfully better candidate experience. That said, how and what you share with candidates is entirely up to you. We've designed Yogen to put that control in your hands.
Some of the intake questions may feel more detailed than you're used to. That's intentional — the quality of what Yogen generates is directly tied to the quality of what goes in. Where it's helpful, we explain why a question is needed or point you to resources on how it's used — so you're never left wondering what you're working toward.
Why does Yogen look the way it does?
HR software doesn't have to feel like a tax filing. We designed Yogen to be something people actually want to use — colorful, engaging, and built around the psychology of focus and completion. Research on the "Kawaii effect" shows that fun, approachable interfaces improve attention and task completion, which matters a lot when we're asking busy managers to answer detailed questions about their hiring needs. Good process requires good engagement.
Does Yogen store candidate personal information?
No. Yogen does not collect or store any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) about candidates. Candidate applications and resumes stay entirely within your ATS. Yogen works with role-level and company-level data — not individual candidate data.
How is my company's data stored and protected?
We take data security seriously. Your company's intake data is stored securely and is never shared with third parties or used to train models on your behalf without consent. For full details, please review our Privacy Policy.
Is Yogen an Applicant Tracking System (ATS)?
No. Yogen is a complement to your ATS, not a replacement. We don't manage candidate applications or resumes — your candidates' information stays in whatever ATS you currently use. Yogen focuses on the intake, preparation, and training layers of hiring that most ATS tools don't address.
How long does onboarding take?
We offer a free 1-hour onboarding call to walk you through all of Yogen's features and get your team set up — no additional cost, just book a time with us. If you'd prefer to explore on your own, here's a rough sense of the time involved for each feature:
- Hiring Audit — about 15 minutes
- Intake — about 1 hour per role
- Hiring Kit — automatically generated, review at your own pace
- Training — self-paced; most users report getting significant value in as little as 30 minutes
Does Yogen integrate with Greenhouse, Workday, Ashby, or other ATS platforms?
ATS integrations are on our roadmap. If a specific integration is a requirement for your team, reach out at [email protected] and we'll prioritize accordingly.
